Welcome to Blogging!

Greetings AP Students!

During our first quarter of Boot Camp, we will be supplementing our class discussions on poetry with our class blog. I will be posting poems and prompts for discussion, which will be graded and counted as homework and participation. Your posts should be insightful and prompt discussion. You needn't write pages or explicate the entire poem on your own in one post. Instead, pose a question or explore a metaphor, a stanza. There are many possibilities. Just remember: don't repeat each other and keep it interesting!

Eventually, you will each create a blog that will be linked to our class page. The purpose of your blog will be to continue our exploration and explication of poetry while we delve into drama and novels in class. Some of our poetry you will find and analyze on your own; other poems may be supplied for you and linked to the texts we are reading in class.

Your blog must be appropriate and reflect the same standards of grammar and usage that would be expected from an in-class response. There may be a more conversational tone of informality to some of your postings; however, you must remember that critical analysis is expected.
Happy Blogging!
